AS7-6179 is for doing a component upgrade of Hibernate Validator 4.2.0 to 4.3.1. 4.3.x includes bug fixes and in particular the soft reference based cache for bean meta data (which might reduce our memory footprint further for deployments with multiple persistence units). 4.3.1 is using JBoss logger.
