JBossMessaging has effectively disabled the bisocket control connection ping mechanism by setting the parameter "pingFrequency" to 214748364, which means that the org.jboss.remoting.transport.bisocket.BisocketServerInvoker.ControlMonitorTimerTask gets created but essentially "never" runs.
