Wesley, this would indeed be convenient if people could change the background colors (CSS)
without having to modify the images, I'm not too sure about GIF transparency support
for IE (I know it's an issue for PNGs).
Could you give it a try ?

Several images in the renaissance theme used in the tabs (tab_left.gif,
tab_left_admin.gif, tab_left_current.gif, tab_left_hover2.gif, tab_right.gif,
tab_right_admin.gif, tab_right_current.gif and tab_right_hover2.gif) should have
transparent edges to allow them to be used without changes when this theme is cloned and
the header and logo images are replaced.
