Remy Maucherat resolved AS7-5550.
---------------------------------
Resolution: Rejected
Filters have "*" as the default mapping for all paths (unlike Servlets which use
"/"), so "/" is the exact mapping for "/" as it should be
(unlike Servlets) and there's no reason to use "" which means nothing as a
path.
servlet filter mapping empty string not working
-----------------------------------------------
Key: AS7-5550
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-5550
Project: Application Server 7
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Web
Affects Versions: 7.2.0.Alpha1
Reporter: Cheng Fang
Assignee: Remy Maucherat
the special url pattern "" (empty string) works in servlet mapping, but not in
servlet filter mapping.
{quote}
12.2 Specification of Mappings
...
The empty string ("") is a special URL pattern that exactly maps to the
application's context root, i.e., requests of the form
http://host:port/<context-
root>/.
{quote}
The @WebFilter(urlPatterns={""}) is not triggered at request time.
