There appears to be a restriction in Windows on the range of values that can be used for
binding client sockets. See the article at
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/cableguy/cg1205.mspx . The default
range is 1025 - 5000, which fits with your observation that the problem occurs when you
use > 3000 connections. You can increase the maximum port to 65534. Yvan, could you
try that and see if it fixes the problem?

I've set the MaxUserPort registry key to 50000 and TcpTimedWaitDelay to 30 (secondes).
The BindException occurs only if MaxUserPort - 1024 connexions are used in less than
TcpTimedWaitDelay secondes. So it's a Windows issue ! Anyway, opening a connexion for
each call is not very efficient. Should I open a feature request ? I've written a
version of the InvokeRemoteInterceptor with a cache for org.jboss.remoting.Client objects,
and with 30 secondes for disconnect timeout. It seems to work, but there is potential
sides effects.
