Galder Zamarreno commented on JBAS-4180:
----------------------------------------
Summary of chat with Brian:
- A general refactor of stuff that extends HAServiceMBeanSupport such that HA classes can
be POJOs, with JMX behavior an added feature.
- Similar fashion to the work you done with JBossCache 2.0 where JMX was decoupled.
- Examine all the use cases, see what makes sense. E.g. HASingletonController emits JMX
notifications, so is a non-JMX-aware version sensible?
Reduce coupling between JMX and HASingleton

Key: JBAS-4180
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBAS-4180
Project: JBoss Application Server
Issue Type: Task
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Components: Clustering
Reporter: Brian Stansberry
Assigned To: Galder Zamarreno
Fix For: JBossAS-5.0.0.CR1
Look at HASingletonController and HASingletonElectionPolicy and factor out the
JMX-related stuff.
For a unit test, just tried to deploy an HASingletonController as a simple MC bean, no
JMX. Fails to start with NPE because HASingletonController is a ServiceMBeanSupport
subclass and w/o JMX registration it won't work.
