It seems that org.hornetq.core.server.management.impl.ManagementServiceImpl aims to protect its internal state by adding the synchronized keyword to many methods; that is by using the ManagementServiceImpl object itself as the guard. But it many places this is omitted. The AS 7 messaging integration can help make up for that by synchronizing on the ManagementServiceImpl before using it.
