From this forum post (http://community.jboss.org/thread/152958), it
sounds like JBoss 4 worked like this jira proposes (via check in
org.jboss.ejb3.enc.DeploymentPersistenceUnitResolver). Then JBoss 5/6 changed that and we
are talking about changing back. I agree that JBoss 4 was better but want to understand
more.
I certainly don't mind requiring applications to be more concise about which
persistence.xml definition that they wish to use. I'm also unsure if AS7 will use the
same persistence.xml that AS5/6 does.

If no name is specified PersistenceUnitSearch.resolvePersistenceUnitSupplier will return
a PU at random, rather than throwing an exception if more than one PU is found.
