Since I was already in that "source code area" for JBPORTAL-2298, I thought to
give it a look.
Solution is obviously to reset value of page every time user clicks on Search Users.
Looking at searchUsers() method, there does not seem to be way to distinguish whether the
method is being called because of user click of "Search Users" or user click of
pagination (next page/previous page). One quick way to fix this would be to remember if
searchString is same as previous search string and set the page value accordingly. But
this seems like a hack to me. WDYT?
Search in user admin not showing results directly after traversing
the search list.

Key: JBPORTAL-2297
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBPORTAL-2297
Project: JBoss Portal
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Components: Portal Identity
Affects Versions: 2.7.1 Final
Environment: lenovo t61, java 1.5
Reporter: Viliam Rockai
Assignee: Boleslaw Dawidowicz
Priority: Minor
after traversing the list of users after search, paginator seems to remember its
position. when you then change "result per page" number, you can easily get into
empty list of found results. you can get to see result, by traversing the paginator
(clicking left, right arrows)
steps to reproduce the issue:
- create 11 users called man1, man2, man3, ... , man11
- set 10 results per page, type "man" into search input and click
"search" button
- you should see 10 result on page and you should be able to go to the next page (right
arrow under the list)
- click on the next page (right arrow) button
- you should see one result
- now type "user" into the search input and click "search" button
again
you see empty list, but you can click to the left arrow to see the correct results.
i believe, that paginator should be "reseted" on every search action and start
from the first page for each result list.
