David Lloyd resolved AS7-2253.
------------------------------
Assignee: David Lloyd (was: Jason Greene)
Resolution: Rejected
There are many factors which come into play. Not the least of which is, your OS may page
in and out chunks of memory, which slows things down, before it "catches on" to
what you're doing. In other words, the second time you start, your OS page cache is
populated with AS bits.
We cannot control factors such as the speed of a hard drive, so a report of one slow-ish
startup (especially when the second is faster) is not something we can really do anything
about. We always have an ongoing goal of a faster boot time, but this is not the kind of
thing which can be codified in a JIRA issue - there's no concrete goal to achieve
here. Therefore we really cannot accept this issue.

Key: AS7-2253
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-2253
Project: Application Server 7
Issue Type: Clarification
Components: Server
Environment: Thinkpad T510 w/ 4 cores, 8Gb, CSB.
Reporter: Chuck Mosher
Assignee: David Lloyd
Priority: Minor
Labels: eap6-ux
First time I executed ./standalone.sh it took 6.7 seconds. The second time was 3.238.
Understand that the first time it's creating files/etc, but that still seems pretty
long compared to the speeds being advertised.
