I presume that you'd ideally want to run a maven command like:
mvn clean package jboss-as:start jboss-as:deploy
Where 'jboss-as:start' will look to see if there is a running instance of the AS
and then try and deploy your war/ear?

'jboss-as:start' goal that will run an instance of the AS if there isn't one
running already?

https://github.com/jbossas/jboss-as-maven-plugin, it just has not been released yet. I was
hoping to add the JDF Stacks to it before I released, but not sure if time will permit
that. If I get a chance I'll review and cut a release this week.
