There not one particular test I was talking about.
I was saying basically something that would wrap an existing unit test (test for
functinality), and then wrap it, to induce load for it and see how the functionality
breaks down under stress.
Just more fine grained load testing I guess, compared to the usual browser based load
testing (which btw is ok, but may not fully stress test the backend services)

Problem with junitperf is that it calls setup() and tear() method on each iteration. I
tried different approaches available in junitperf and I don't think there is a
workaround for this. Some POC tests at http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/qa/junitperf/. I
have posted on their ML which is not very active. Let's see if anybody chimes in. In
mean time, I am looking into others.

junitperf has the limitation of junit that I mentioned in my previous comment. There is no
workaround. What junitperf ML suggested that if setup method is expensive then you do
those setup before running tests. Of course this is one alternative and other being that
we write new tests which simulate load locally.

There is this class called junit/extensions/TestSetup. It is currently used in AS
testsuite to do one time deployments. If there are not regular per-test setup methods,
then only the per-testsuite methodsw will get called. I think we might be able to leverage
this feature in portal test suite using junit perf. We may have to modify super classes.
For example in CMS case, this will be AbstractCMS test cases.
