Chris Laprun commented on JBPORTAL-1121:
----------------------------------------
While I understand the "demo" aspect of it, I personally find confusing that you
can move windows around without the Portal caring about it. It's going to cause
confusion, and I don't think it looks professional. An alert could alleviate the
confusion but it still doesn't prevent the "show-off" syndrome. I suggest
that dnd should be disabled for shared pages or implement the copy-on-change solution
where the Portal would create a private page based on the shared page...
Another quicker solution would be to create a sandbox page where users can play around
with dnd and other features without having an impact on the rest of the Portal. This page
should be marked as such and state something to the effect of "We recommend you
remove this page, blah, blah..." :)
Drag and drop for anon users in shared pages should warn you with an
alert of some sort

Key: JBPORTAL-1121
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBPORTAL-1121
Project: JBoss Portal
Issue Type: Task
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Affects Versions: 2.6.DR1
Reporter: Alex Pinkin
Assigned To: Roy Russo
Fix For: 2.6.Alpha1
When users first arrive to the portal home page after installing JBP, it is a good idea
to allow them to test out drag and drop immediatly. However, editing shared pages
doesn't persist for longer than the user session. We need to make sure that users
understand that by giving them some kind of notification when they drag a portlet on a
shared page as an anonymous user.
