Hardy Ferentschik commented on JBBUILD-613:
-------------------------------------------
There seems to be an issue with this though.
If I try this:
mvn archetype:generate
-DarchetypeCatalog=http://repository.jboss.org/nexus/service/local/nexus-archetype-plugin/public/archetype-catalog.xml
I don't get to the see the catalog. If I try to access the url in a browser I get an
error. I tried this url instead
http://repository.jboss.org/nexus/service/local/nexus-archetype-plugin/re...
Now I had to provide my JBoss credentials and got another error. However, now accessing
http://repository.jboss.org/nexus/service/local/nexus-archetype-plugin/pu...
again returned the expected catalog xml.
Either I am using the wrong url or something is wrong with the setup. And of course there
should be no login required to access the catalog.
Add the archetype-catalog.xml to Nexus

Key: JBBUILD-613
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBBUILD-613
Project: JBoss Build System
Issue Type: Task
Reporter: Paul Gier
Assignee: Paul Gier
Fix For: Repository Support 2010
The old Maven repository included an archetype-catalog file
(
http://repository.jboss.org/maven2/archetype-catalog.xml). There should be a way to host
this in Nexus. Possibly the Nexus archetype plugin can be used
(
https://docs.sonatype.org/display/Nexus/Nexus+Archetype+Plugin).
This was requested in the build system wiki
