Hi all, While I'm trying to see what can be cleaned in parent pom, I've made some investigations around XulRunner. My starting points were those 2 issues: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-12455 (existing profiles for macosx, to run tests using a 32-bits JVM apparently because of XulRunner) https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-5418 (general issue about XulRunner and MacOSX Cocoa 64-bits) I've asked Eclipse forums on this topic and it appears that SWT ships its own version of XulRunner as part of the SWT platform-specific fragments: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/377759/915713/#msg_915713 Then I'm wondering why use a copy of XulRunner? Is it still necessary? If SWT has a XulRunner for Cocoa 64bits, why do we have specific profiles to use 32bits? Any help is welcome, and even more that help, some tests on Cocoa 64 bits! multiple.target to become a "composite" target

Hi all, So far, we used to have a composite site + a multiple.target using this composite site to define our target-platform. Today, we'll move to a more straightforward approach: skip composite target site, and use several locations in multiple.target. You'll be able to consume this multiple.target (now in build/target-platforms/multiple/multiple.target) as usual, and you'll keep access to sources and everything. The composite target site (currently http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/juno/SR0a ) will become useless. This provides easier maintainance and versioning, through a single entry file, published on JBoss Nexus. New mechanism for target=platforms

Hi all, We'd like to provide an improvement to target-platform management that would make them more reliable, thanks to more validation, and more automation (less manual error-prone maintainance). The first step consists in this bug: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-12565 The idea is to automatically generate unified.target and local.target from multiple.target. Also, we'll split the target-platforms in several maven artifacts (GAVs), so that we can publish them more incrementally and perform much more validation to guarantee that what is published is always synchronized with our sites. Artifact and group IDs for target-platform will change. However, profiles will be updated in parent pom to use those new artifacts, so you should not be affected by this change, but since Target Platform are a central component, it may cause a bad day if things go worse than expected. The plan is the following: Step 1: I set up the CI job for this new mechanism (since artifact changed it won't collide with current platforms). Publication of the aggregated target site will still be done by previous job. Step 2: when we are in a good state, remove publication of aggregated target site from current job and move it to the new one Step 3: when we are in a good state, change profiles in parent pom to use new targets Step 4: remove old jobs from Jenkins and old target-platform mechanism from SVN. Step 5: there's no step 5. I'll start tomorrow with Step 1, the goal is to have all this finished for Tuesday (before code-freeze). Please share any concern. m2e-wtp 0.16.0.RC2 is available

Hi all, m2e 0.16.0 RC2 (0.16.0.20120914-0945) is available from the m2e-wtp 0.16.0 milestones update site [1]. Along a couple minor bugs [2] that have been fixed thanks to the contributions of Roberto Sanchez and Marcos Munoz, from IBM, the most notable changes since the last RC1 build are : * all the required plugins are now signed using eclipse.org certificate. * an SDK has been added to the update site Even though you still can not upgrade m2e-wtp over the former m2eclipse-wtp when doing "Help > Install New Software..." (both plugins are seen as incompatible), you should get a better shot at trying "Find updates" ([1] must be added to Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites) : p2 will consider m2e-wtp as a viable update solution for m2eclipse-wtp. Hopefully, you shouldn't have any problem installing m2e-wtp 0.16.0 over a clean Eclipse JavaEE installation. The full changelog for 0.16.0 is available at [3].
