Well it depends on where do you have your users and when do you want to
send the email.
Usually when you use something like jBPM your users are outside jbpm, for
example in LDAP or in an Active Directory. So you just need to ask for that
information straight from your IDM and send the emails using that
information. If you are talking about notifications inside human tasks,
those are specific scenarios that can send emails from within jBPM. Take a
look at the docs.
