The second patch solves the problem for nested composite components using cc:attribute 'targets', to make the example provided work. Really this is the alternate form of MYFACES-2946, but for Mojarra. In theory, this patch could be applied in 2.0 branch, because it just do what 'targets' description says, so I propose it as a separate patch if there is some interest to commit it on mojarra 2.0 branch.
