The vdb.xml can now specify a set of vdbs to be imported for reuse within the current vdb. See the reference guide VDB section https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/TEIID/VDBs for more information. It is possible that we could reuse materialized views from imported vdbs, but that was not yet implemented.
