Steven Hawkins commented on TEIID-1268:
---------------------------------------
Given our current type system, the proper implementation would introduce a new type. That
is seemingly too large of a change. Another option would be to allow a system setting for
the collation or just a property to treat string comparisons (equality, order, like, etc.)
as case insensitive. If there is no community feedback on this issue, we'll likely
move it into the unscheduled bucket.
Add support for using the case insensitive metadata

Key: TEIID-1268
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-1268
Project: Teiid
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Query Engine
Affects Versions: 7.0
Reporter: Steven Hawkins
Assignee: Steven Hawkins
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 8.0
We currently capture whether the source is case sensitive and thus have a place holder on
both physical and virtual models, but we do not use this information in performing
comparisons in teiid.
