Translators can supply metadata via a MetadataFactory. A JDBC wrapper does not seem
necessary just for import unless you are thinking about designer integration.

Yes, for use in designer. Which may make this a feature of designer and not teiid, not
sure.

As Steve mentioned, this functionality is available via the MetadataFactory. To import
the metadata using designer, create a dynamic vdb and deploy on the server. Then use the
Teiid Driver in designer to reverse engineer (import) the source models.
