I didn't put it in, since I figured it was hard to justify that this
is better than FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().
And 'cos I assumed that we were going write a portable extension with
various "useful" JSF-related things.
I can add it in the maintenance release if you really think its important.

Because I can't even begin to count how many times I'm going to need that
when developing apps. Probably the #1 injection in JSF apps.
(True, I could make a producer method myself, but so will the n-thousand
other JSF developers).
