Since JCA specification addresses reauthentication responsibilities to both server and
resource adapter, its implementation can be considered separately. In my opinion there
should be two different tasks:
First of all the JBoss JCA has to provide reauthentication support, if a certain resource
adapter; and it could be a third party resource adapter, does support. The JBoss JCA has
to recognize this ability by interpreting of the ra.xml and provide an appropriate pooling
and handling for Managed Connections.
The second task is to implement reauthentication in JBoss own resource adapters like
JDBC.
From my point of view the first task is most important, since the
third party resource adapter depend on this feature. This will help to avoid such
scenarios mentioned in the forum topic. I assume that an implementation of this feature in
JBoss JCA is not so difficult.
