[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-10411) TLDs under META-INF/resources inside the web-fragment jar is not loaded

Tomas Hofman edited comment on WFLY-10411 at 5/31/18 6:15 AM:
--------------------------------------------------------------
[~swd847] since the meaning of the spec is perhaps ambiguous and at least Tomcat behaves according to a different interpretation that Wildfly does, what do you think about adding {{META-INF/resources}} as another root in TldParsingDeploymentProcessor?
https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly/blob/master/undertow/src/main/java/org...
I'm talking about the fact that when web-fragment.xml JAR contains taglib mapping like this:
{code}
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>/HiTag</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/hi.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
{code}
then Wildfly looks for "/WEB-INF/tlds/hi.tld" under "<jar>/META-INF/" while Tomcat looks under "<jar>/META-INF/resources".

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-9849) Hibernate session related leak on module undeployment
by Joni Syri (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-9849?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.... ]
Joni Syri updated WFLY-9849:
----------------------------
Description:
In some cases it seems that removing deployment from the Wildfly, doesn't free up {{org.hibernate.internal.SessionFactoryImpl}}- instance related to the deployment. (plus some other Hibernate related classes). This can be seen by taking memory dump with VisualVM and looking up {{SessionFactoryImpl}} instances.
This leads to cumulative memory leak in cases, where application is repeatedly deployed/undeployed (or updated).
updated: Seems to occur on 12.0.0.Final also
Memory dumps can be found at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WbHB6hRpr_lrc4yb4yxWLpeObmJlNCzD (wildfly-leak-1 is after first deployment, wildfly-leak-2 after few re-deploys)

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-10411) TLDs under META-INF/resources inside the web-fragment jar is not loaded

I sent an email to taglibs-user(a)tomcat.apache.org list to discuss this, and here's Jeremy Boynes' answer:
{quote}
This may be better addressed to user(a)t.a.o as this really relates to the Jasper JSP engine rather than the taglib itself. Having said that, here’s how I read the spec.
JSP 7.3.3 talks about a “taglib map” using elements in the deployment descriptor per your example. Per JSP 7.3.2 the URI is mapped to a _context relative path_ interpreted relative to the root of the web application. Resources contained in a web fragment jar are located in its /META-INF/resources directory. Tomcat/Jasper are synthesizing the effective web application from the resources in the fragments, then resolving the URI in the taglib map against that merged application. I think that’s a correct interpretation of the spec.
JSP 7.3.1 refers to implicit map entries found by scanning the web application’s jars from WEB-INF/lib

[JBoss JIRA] (WFCORE-3897) Host starts with server assigned to non-existent server group
by Chao Wang (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFCORE-3897?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugi... ]
Chao Wang commented on WFCORE-3897:
-----------------------------------
Note down Brian's reply in email and analysis:
{quote}It's a bug that the host starts at all with that misconfiguration. If it's started --admin-only it should boot, to give an admin a chance to correct the misconfiguration. But with this one it boots even not in admin-only. Can you file a JIRA?{quote}
The HC only check required server group existence in server start. In this case, servers are configured to auto-start="false", no error indicates any misconfiguration.
{quote}You can invoke a management write op without restarting in --admin-only, but it has to be one that corrects all issues. If you have several invalid attributes (e.g. two server-config resources with invalid group attributes) then you need to correct them all in one op, using a batch.{quote}
In admin only mode, use CLI to run example like:
{code:xml}
[domain@localhost:9990 /] batch
[domain@localhost:9990 / #] /server-group=main-server-group:add(profile=full,socket-binding-group=full-sockets)
[domain@localhost:9990 / #] /system-property=foo:add(value=bar)
[domain@localhost:9990 / #] run-batch
{code}
{quote}It's not a bug that other write ops fail. The system validates its config as part of any write op and if it finds an inconsistent config it will fail and roll back the op.{quote}

> Configuring a host with:
> <server name="server-one" group="main-server-group" auto-start="false"/>
> <server name="server-two" group="main-server-group" auto-start="false">
> <socket-bindings port-offset="150"/>
> </server>
> And no server-goup with that name in the domain.xml, the host starts and all management operations fail.

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-10486) improve logging of connector services
by Martin Simka (JIRA)
Martin Simka created WFLY-10486:
-----------------------------------
Summary: improve logging of connector services
Key: WFLY-10486
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-10486
Project: WildFly
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: JCA
Affects Versions: 13.0.0.Final
Reporter: Martin Simka
Assignee: Stefano Maestri
Priority: Minor
While looking into WFLY-9978 I noticed that a lot of different connector services log the same message.
{noformat}
2018-03-07 16:04:34,039 DEBUG [org.jboss.as.connector.subsystems.resourceadapters] (MSC service thread 1-6) Starting ResourceAdapters Service
{noformat}
It could simplify investigation of issues if they would log actual name of Service.
{code}
:~/Projekty/redhat/git/wildfly/connector$ git grep "Starting ResourceAdapters"
src/main/java/org/jboss/as/connector/subsystems/resourceadapters/AOConfigPropertiesService.java: SUBSYSTEM_RA_LOGGER.debugf("Starting ResourceAdapters Service");
