[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-10962) WFLY14: set-tx-query-timeout broken on xa-datasource
by Petr H (JIRA)
Petr H updated WFLY-10962:
--------------------------
Description:
In order to test the [WFLY-10621] issue I migrated the domain configuration from WFLY 11 to WFLY 14 and started the domain and process controllers which was successfull.
However after starting the 1st app server instance I encountered the following warnings and consequently the application dependent on that particular datasource wasn't working properly:

(basically on every attempt to use that datasource)
Based on the stack trace I deduced this is related to the set-tx-query-timeout=true setting on that datasource (which is xa-datasource) so I removed that for now and the problem disappeared.
Notes:
1. Non-XA datasources don't seem to be affected, but they still could be - see the next point.
2. In this particular case this xa-datasource is attempted to be used during the server startup, before the instance is fully up, e.g. before the _WFLYSRV0212: Resuming server_ and _WFLYSRV0026: WildFly Full 14.0.0.Final (WildFly Core 6.0.1.Final) started_ events (for example managed scheduled executors throw _(EE-ManagedScheduledExecutorService-default-Thread-1) WFLYEE0110: Failed to run scheduled task: java.lang.IllegalStateException: WFLYEE0111: Cannot run scheduled task javax.enterprise.concurrent.ManagedExecutors$ManagedRunnable@12caf21c as container is suspended_ at this point). This fact might be somehow related to the issue. However since the 1st failure occurrence the datasource doesn't recover from that.
3. About a month ago I tested the same config (with set-tx-query-timeout in place) at WFLY 13 and there was no such issue, only WFLY 14 is affected.

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-10962) WFLY14: set-tx-query-timeout broken on xa-datasource
by Petr H (JIRA)
Petr H created WFLY-10962:
-----------------------------
Summary: WFLY14: set-tx-query-timeout broken on xa-datasource
Key: WFLY-10962
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-10962
Project: WildFly
Issue Type: Bug
Components: JCA
Affects Versions: 14.0.0.Final
Environment: wildfly-14.0.0.Final
jdk1.8.0_172
CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708
Reporter: Petr H
Assignee: Stefano Maestri
In order to test the [WFLY-10621] issue I migrated the domain configuration from WFLY 11 to WFLY 14 and started the domain and process controllers which was successfull.
However after starting the 1st app server instance I encountered the following warnings and consequently the application dependent on that particular datasource wasn't working properly:
