UPDATE: this didn't work reliably on Mac OSX and Windows: either bind new
MulticastSocket(saddr) failed (on Windows, although the correct stack was chosen and the
mcast_addr was correct too), or the *sending* didn't work (Mac OSX).
So, although this works on Linux, I'm going to roll back the changes !

This doesn't work on Windows, so try-catch it and create new MulticastSocket with a
wildcard bind address.
(2.4.2 is the equivalent of 2.4.1. SP5) - Bela
