This issue is caused by a bug in the maven jar plugin
(http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MJAR-75). The current version of the jar plugin sets the
wrong artifact type. The issue is already fixed, but not released. A version of the jar
plugin with the patch should be added to the jboss repository so that it can be used by
the projects that need it.
