Dennis Reed commented on JGRP-892:
----------------------------------
This was never fixed in Util.createServerSocket in Branch_JGroups_3_0 or master.
ConnectionMap.createServerSocket(): throw an exception if socket
cannot be created
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JGRP-892
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JGRP-892
Project: JGroups
Issue Type: Task
Affects Versions: 2.6.7, 3.0.10, 3.1
Reporter: Bela Ban
Assignee: Vladimir Blagojevic
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 2.6.8
Currently, this method returns null, and unless the caller checks for null, we'll
have an NPE later.
SOLUTION: throw an exception if the socket cannot be created. TODO: check
Util.createServerSocket()/createSocket()/createDatagramSocket() as well and see whether we
need to throw an exception there, too.
