BTW staxmapper doesn't do anything special like I for some reason thought it did.
The problem is caused when someone does something like this
<thing></thing>@#@#%$@$WEF<other></other>. So the error message is
actually accurate, it's just obtuse. It could be a bit more human friend/verbose if we
implemented something like I thought we did in staxmapper (but do not) where we implement
a nextTag which explains what in more detail what went wrong. See

If I make a typo in jboss-web.xml (or any other descriptor for that matter) I get really
