Remove the following two lines from HibernatePersistenceProviderAdaptor.java - properties.put("hibernate.jndi.java.naming.factory.initial", "org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory"); - properties.put("hibernate.jndi.java.naming.factory.url.pkgs", "org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces"); Then the bindind succeeds.
