Manik Surtani updated JBCACHE-1128:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Automated integration testing to ensure compatibility of
dependencies (was: Add a full component-info.xml to source tree)
Original Estimate: 1 week
Remaining Estimate: 1 week
Fix Version/s: 2.2.0.GA
(was: 2.1.0.GA)
(was: 2.1.0.CR1)
Complexity: Medium
Deferring this to 2.2.0.
The purpose here is to ensure that the dependencies JBC ships with are compatible with
versions shipped with JBoss AS.
E.g., (hypothetically speaking) JBC ships with JGroups 2.6.1 and JBoss AS 5 shipped with
JGroups 2.6.0. The JBC tests just run with 2.6.1 and before release we should certify it
against libs shipped with AS 5.
Basically, an automated way to generate this page:
http://labs.jboss.org/jbosscache/compatibility/index.html
Should be as simple as an ant script, that pulls down:
1. Srcs for JBC we hope to test
2. Dependent libs from JBC's pom.xml
3. Dependent libs from AS's component-info.xml that overlaps with libs from (2)
4. Run test suite
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for all versions of AS we need to test against
6. Generate report based on output
