Stan Silvert commented on AS7-2411:
-----------------------------------
I've looked into this quite a bit. There appears to be two problems:
1) It is difficult (or impossible) to know the IP address of each server. See AS7-2764.
2) Host controllers come and go. You can't list a server if the host controller is
down. I don't see any way to statically define which servers and host controllers can
connect to the domain controller. So any list will be limited to whatever happens to be
on line at the time. That makes the server group view less useful.
Both of the above problems could be addressed, but I'm guessing they are both a low
priority. I'm assigning to Brian for his comments.
We could still do something but I'm just afraid it wouldn't be very useful. Let
me know if you guys think it's still worth pursuing with the above restrictions.
servergroup view
----------------
Key: AS7-2411
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-2411
Project: Application Server 7
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Console
Affects Versions: 7.1.0.Alpha1
Environment: all
Reporter: Rich Sharples
Assignee: Stan Silvert
Labels: eap6-ux
Fix For: 7.2.0.Alpha1
In the console when working with a large cluster or server-group it would be *really*
useful to have a single view of all servers (local and remote) within the group. In
thatview I'd expect to see the server name as well as the host IP / name and status. I
think the natural place for this view would be unde Server Groups.
The alterative today is to go to each host and view the server-group on each - that is a
real pain in a production environment with a large number of machines / servers.
