Brian Stansberry updated JBAS-4556:
-----------------------------------
Fix Version/s: Backlog
(was: No Release)
"Backlog" is correct Fix Version; "No Release" is for stuff that
logically doesn't belong to a release.
Support "transient" session attributes
--------------------------------------
Key: JBAS-4556
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBAS-4556
Project: JBoss Application Server
Issue Type: Feature Request
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Components: Clustering, Web (Tomcat) service
Reporter: Brian Stansberry
Assignee: Brian Stansberry
Priority: Optional
Fix For: Backlog
Consider mechanisms to support "transient" session attributes, i.e. attributes
that don't replicate.
A couple concepts:
1) A general jboss-web.xml flag. If set, tests any attribute for serializability before
replicating; if not serializable don't include it in the serialized form.
2) A jboss-web.xml block where specific attribute names could be listed for exclusion.
Marking this JIRA as "No Release" as I'm adding it to record an idea that
came up as a tangent in a support case discussion. Not on any short-term roadmap unless
someone in the community expresses interest in exploring the idea and implementing it.
"Exploring it" in the sense of validating any use cases to see if they make
sense.
