David Lloyd resolved AS7-4538.
------------------------------
Assignee: David Lloyd (was: James Perkins)
Resolution: Rejected
This is the wrong place to do this. What you should do is define a path called
"my-logging" or whatever, and use an expression for its value. Then your
logging file handler should be relative to that directory. This solves your problem with
existing logic.
We cannot support expressions in the "relative-to" attribute because there is a
degree of referential integrity in the management model that must be maintained.
Support expressions for "file relative-to" attribute.

Key: AS7-4538
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-4538
Project: Application Server 7
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Logging
Affects Versions: 7.1.1.Final
Environment: Windows 7 64 bit
Reporter: Joseph Fouts
Assignee: David Lloyd
Labels: jboss
Fix For: No Release
Support expressions for "file relative-to" attribute.
Currently "file relative-to" does not support pointing to an environment
variable.
We have an environment variable setup to define the folder that all logging goes to.
We would like to have JBoss logging use this environment variable rather than have
to manually define the path again in the server config file.
