Jonathan Halliday commented on JBAS-5235:
-----------------------------------------
Please, add your comments and re-assign it too me.
As I recall this one stems from customer feedback about the differences between local tx
datasource and xa datasource.
With the move to JBossTS as default TM in AS 4.2, some transactions that could previously
use two local datasources will fail as JBossTS allows only one last resource by default.
Thus users need to be more aware of the differences in behaviour between local and xa ds
when configuring their AS.
The suggestion was to put comments in the sample -ds.xml files we provide, making it clear
that where a tx may use more than one datasource, then the xa version is probably going to
be needed. Maybe reference
http://www.jboss.org/community/docs/DOC-11443 or even write a
more -ds centric version and reference that instead.
I suppose the wiki needs updating too.
In so far as it has sample -ds.xml files and config advise that would seem a good idea
yes.
> Add a warning comment in the example datasource descriptors about local datasources
