The current layout only respects the default modes view, help and edit. If an application defined an additional mode like "config" the portal should offer a new button beside the other buttons for "edit" and "help". Some generic icons would do, or just the name of the mode. Use case: Websphere knows a mode called config that overwrites default preferences ofthe portlet.xml and is only accessible by administrators. Settings changed in config mode are default values for users in edit mode, but can be changed by users. To implement this behavior on jboss we had (among other things) to add a button in the jsp for the edit mode to get to the config mode. If jboss respected the declared mode and request.getPortletMode() returned the correct value we would not have to do that. Using jboss portal + as from jboss.org Version 2.4.0 A portlet includes a jsp page, which in turn calls a tag: ... String userAgent = ((HttpServletRequest) pageContext.getRequest()).getHeader("User-Agent"); ... userAgent is always null. Request is a RenderRequest. I know that User-Agent is not required to be sent and unreliable too, but normally the data provided is pretty accurate for our means and we dont want to identify the browser via javascript. I have similar issue with my MDB. I also got such exception, but strange thing that on my class I have implements javax.jmx.MessageListener. After some debugging and looking in source code of EJB3 probably I found the cause of problem. this exception is thrown from org.jboss.ejb3.mdb.MDB.java: ArrayList list = ProxyFactoryHelper.getBusinessInterfaces(clazz); if (list.size() > 1 || list.size() == 0) throw new RuntimeException("unable to determine messagingType interface for MDB"); messagingType = list.get(0); As you see it gets all implemented interfaces of your class (and don't get interfaces of parent class probably) and if it is empty (as in your case) or if it is more than one interface on class (as in my case, because I have another interface on my class) exception is thrown. [Remoting] - InitialContext.lookup returns null for Jboss in linux and cl

My Jboss is in linux machine and I my client is running in a windows machine. The problem is initialContext.lookup method returns null for ejb reference. I could not solve the problem. I still don't understand where MaxPoolSize goes in 4.0.5? as weston said maxSession != maxPoolSize. So How can I make my MDB singleton? Thanks Antoine, I appreciate your quick response. I found the cause that the portlet i have created is not retreiving the contents forom repository. It is directly fetching the content from its current location, could you please help me in changing the attribute of the portlet so that it can fetch contents from the repository (i.e the latest version) Waiting for your response.
