What you seem to describe is a generic task and based on the availability of as certain variable, that task is either for one user or another. The DB connections available in the pool are alive, the check-valid-connection when called will basically take longer time since the DB is locked, it is not closed/shutdown. It seems to work fine, it is almost the same as for processDefinitionId filter. Need to write some more test cases for it, at the moment only one that is based on already prepared test cases for ActivityInstanceQuery. P.S.
