A project example contains one or more Eclipse/Maven projects archived in zip format. Project examples of the type "mavenArchetype" and "mavenGit" don't require a zip file. It is enough to declare them in the project examples xml file. h4. Project Examples Sites Project examples are organized in sites. A site is a local or remote xml file that describes one or more project examples. The Project Examples Engine uses ECF to download zip archives which means that the sites (xml files) and project examples (zip archives) can be password protected. [jBPM] - Propagation of ABORT state in Sub process to parent.

To view the discussion, visit: http://community.jboss.org/message/634591#634591 -------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all, We are using drools/jBPM5 as part of our long term preservation experiment (here at the dutch national library) which purpose is to analyse and reject or store digital publications. The problem that we are facing currently is that the whole process is getting quite enormous and we 've decided to split it up into various subprocesses. We now have about 16 subprocesses / .rf files. The thing is that when we detect a deficiency in the publication and/or the metadata we 'reject' the publication and abort the process. Inside a subprocess the abort however is never propagated to the parent process and the latter will continue the process even while the abort was raised in the childprocess, causing all kinds of unexpected behaviour. To cope with this we've created a custom extension on the SubProcessNodeInstance and registered this with the NodeInstanceFactoryRegistry. The difference with the original instance is that when the child process gets in an ABORTED state this state is propagated to the parent process instance. in code: } else if (processInstance.getState() == ProcessInstance.STATE_COMPLETED) { handleOutMappings(processInstance); triggerCompleted(); } else if (processInstance.getState() == ProcessInstance.STATE_ABORTED) { handleOutMappings(processInstance); getProcessInstance().setState(ProcessInstance.STATE_ABORTED); Another solution would be to use the output mapping of the subprocess node and use a variable for this. but injecting split joins attached to end node's on every subprocess node would be very cumbersome for our situation, not making the process definition more readable. I would like to hear whether the approach we've taken is sensible. does it align with the underlying fundamentals of BPMN ? would a JIRA issue to implement such a change make sene ? Please share your opinion on this approach. Thanks in advance.. I was even thinking to have the boundary event attached directly to the call activity, but after quick check it seems it is not supported at the moment. Regarding the termination of the process on error end event, it should be ended but only the sub process and the main process should still run but seems like it does not work like this. How to clean a failed deploy via admin-console

"The JBoss User main mailing list" , How to clean a failed deploy via admin-console Hi there, I noticed a problem with admin-console from AS 6.1 (have not tried with other releases) when a failed deploy leaves some kind of "gargabe" that it seem can only be cleansed with restart. How to reproduce: 1. Use the admin-console do deploy an EAR which depends on a non-configured data source or jms queue. It'll fail 2. Create the missing resources (data source, jms queue, etc) 3. Jboss logs will show the EAR and its sub-packages deploying fine, but they won't show on admin-console 4. App seems to work ok, but there's no copy of the EAR on deploy 5. App has folders inside tmp/vfs for EAR and its subpackages, which are removed on shutdown 6. On restart, the EAR app does not exist anymore I tried to remove the tmp/vfs/automount* files, but the EAR and its subpackages are still deployed when the missing resources are configured, but this time the web applications won't start, complaining missing files from tmp/vfs. You see, this is very strange... I can't get rid of the failed deployments either using the console nor removing files. They keep lurking on my system and can create a situation where a working app (from user's perspective) is invisible to the admin-console and disapears on restart. Very confusing and prone to break havoc on a production system. At least the app can be re-deployed without a restart... but someone has to remember to do the redeploy after providing the missing resources. But if someone configures the missing resources for some other app that happen to use the same datasource or jms topic? Is there a way to "clean" the state for failed deployments, so they don't start when missing resources are configured, and without redeploying the same packages? []s, Fernando Lozano
