[jBPM] - Starting process instance using the jBPM REST API and setting parameters

I would like to start a new process instance using jBPM REST interface. I have managed to figure out that the following URL needs to be called in order to start a new process instance: http://localhost:8080/gwt-console-server/rs/process/definition/ http://localhost:8080/gwt-console-server/rs/process/definition/<processId>/new_instance/ (POST) The problem is that this process has 3 variables and has a form to it which is rendered when starting the process instance. What I need to accomplish is to use the above REST interface and set the parameters without this form using only the rest interface. Is it possible to set the parameters this way? If yes, how? The problem is that I was not using transactions... Just surround my code in a tm.begin() and tm.commit() and it works fine. My problem looks very similar to what is described very well in this thread: https://community.jboss.org/thread/169828?start=0&tstart=0 https://community.jboss.org/thread/169828?start=0&tstart=0 >From that thread it looks as if the fact that I mave my business interfaces packaged with both my ejb.jar and my web.war creates a class loading problem because each jar/war has its own class loader, which effectively makes the EJB from my ejb.jar incompatible with the business interface in my web.war. I am adding a XOR (Data-based exclusive (XOR) Gateway as its called). 2. in the properties I give it the Name: approval successfull? 3. Add one incomming connection and 2 outgoing (one labelled yes the other no) There is a process variable [approval] of type boolean. this is set in the preceeding user task. All this was done in jBPM 5.3s Guvnor, jBPM Designer Web 2.3 Release version. How do I make the XOR use the process variable [approval]? Please dont tell me it can only be done with the eclipse plugin. [jBPM] - Exception handling for technical exceptions

I have a scenario where a java exception inside a work item handler should abort the workflow execution. Up until now I've been mapping this java exception to a business exception (following a suggestion by Kris in which I map the exception as an exit variable and signal from an exit action if said variable is filled) but I'd like to hide this complexity from the modellers: they should know that a service task could abort the workflow and not have to model error events for this. I see that older jBPM versions had the concept of a global exception handler. Is there any similar concept in 5.3? What is the best approach to handle this scenario? My processes are mostly composed by Human Actions, which make them long running processes. My problem is similar to the one discribed here: https://community.jboss.org/message/636561#636561 https://community.jboss.org/message/636561#636561 I've already configured jBPM to use persistense and I was able to start processes (building kbase, ksession, taskService, etc.). [jBPM] - JBPM 5.2 console can't get any Guvnor Process Definition

If I try using the rest api ( http://127.0.0.1:8080/gwt-console-server/rs/process/definitions http://127.0.0.1:8080/gwt-console-server/rs/process/definitions), I get: {"definitions":[]} (and JBoss logs says that parsed 0 process definitions). I've made several packages in Guvnor, and jbpm-console seems to be trying to parse processes from all of them, but keeps saying he got 0 processes to parse. Here I upload a list of assets obtained from the Guvnor's rest api ( http://127.0.0.1:8080/drools-guvnor/rest/packages/defaultPackage/assets http://127.0.0.1:8080/drools-guvnor/rest/packages/defaultPackage/assets). Should jbpm-console see any process? What does a process definition look like in the rest API when it is parseable by jbpm-console? Getting tasks by users seem like an unsure method as the processInstance can have multiple active tasks allocated to the same user at the same time. Make sure that the dispose will happen after transaction completion.
