[JBoss Tools (users)] - Creating EJB3 Entity bean in JBoss IDE? (2.0 beta2)

Don't know if I am stupid, but how am I supposed to create an EJB3 entity bean with the help of JBoss IDE?? Or is this not implemented yet in beta2? Since there is apparently now documentation for 2.0 beta 2 yet? I think this is a misunderstanding but it is difficult to explain. The JOINED strategy does not directly relate to the class hierachy because the class hierachy is about classes and their relationships while the persitence api deals with instances of classes. Therefore entities cannot "share" the rows in the classes of tables they have inherited. Maybe an example makes it easier to understand: Imagine the (abstract) class Vehicle had a property license_number that is inherited up to the Boieng 747. It is not sufficient to have one license plate number for all Vehicles (it is not a static property), so you have to have one row in the vehicle table for every vehicle. If you want to have one entry in the parent table for all the children use ManyToOne on the "child" instead of inheritance. [Beginners Corner] - JBoss Portal perfomance and scalability

Hello all. I have rather little experience with JBoss products - only testing and no production usage. Now our company has an opportunity to start using JBoss products (Portal in particular) in real-life projects. But there is one problem - it seems that there is no good benchmark results and/or sizings guides on it. Hi If you have read Ejb are more expensive than plain Jdbc quires at any case so for purposes like listing and deleting, modifying, inserting large number of records one should always use plain jdbc quires as you will get a large performance gain over ejbs. Hi, Actually your problem is because of class loaders as your war file will have different class loader allocated by tomcat so you will not be able to load your properties file from outside of war file. the file jboss-service.xml residing in jbossweb-tomcat55.sar\META-INF contains two different options as "<attribute name="Java2ClassLoadingCompliance">false</attribute>" and "<attribute name="UseJBossWebLoader">false</attribute>" if you make these values to true then it will tell the jboss that war won't be having different class loaders anymore. Thanks very much for explaining that to me. It makes sense now. I am still new to the whole Seam stack including Hibernate and EJB3 and JSF so I am learning while I go through the tutorials. I got another question. If one were to not want to use HSQLDB and wanted to use MySQL what would be the configuration xml files that one would have to change to make that happen? I realize of course the driver will change, the dialect for Hibernate will change as well. I see in the booking example there is an xml file called persistence.xml. In there there is a line: <jta-data-source>java:/bookingDatasource</jta-data-source> It seems to me that line needs to be changed but where is that datasource being loaded up from in the first place?
