I have installed jbpm-bpel-1.1.GA and jboss-4.2.2.GA. I have got it up and running, and I have successfully run the BPEL examples (hello, trip, purchase, and ATM). However, I notice that the build scripts for these are using the .bpel and .swdl files from the 'bpel' subdirectory, not the 'bpel2'. Also, I have version 0.3.0 of the Eclipse Designer plugins. This doesn't show the 'bpel' examples usefully, but does show the bpel2 examples properly. I tried changing the build scripts to point at the bpel2 examples, but this then reports various BpelParseExceptions. Has anyone had some success running these BPEL2 examples? Depends what you want. In your case task-end event will not get fired, but the task instance will end and process instance will continue (token will signal). The task-end event will never fire again (since task instance was already added), so adding it again is not needed. If you want your process instance to continue and if you want your task instance to complete, but without events, then this is ok. If you want your process instance to 'abort', and your task instance to 'abort' where you can make a distinction between completed task instances and aborted ones, then this is not ok. I found quite a simple way to make sure a "task-end" event does not get fired when cancelling a task instance. I remove the event, cancel the task instance, and then add the event back. We have migrated from JBOSS4.0.5 GA to JBOSS4.2.2, and we encounter the class loader issue. We have packaged the java mail.jar in our application archive (due to our application archive can be deployed in different AS, so we include that instead of depending the existing mail.jar in JBOSS\server\default\lib), and we discovered the NoClassDefFoundError. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/mail/Address | at javax.mail.Session.getTransport(Session.java:681) | at javax.mail.Transport.send0(Transport.java:148) | at javax.mail.Transport.send(Transport.java:80) We didn't have such an issue in JBOSS405. The Utility.class is present both in the application's archive AND server/default/lib. The deployment is scoped, but java2ParentDelegation is turned on. The snippet from the use case 4 What happens if the parent delegation is true and a classloader already loaded the class in the parent repository's class cache? Answer: My scoped application will use the already loaded class from the parent repository's class cache Based on that, the JBOSS AS will not load the javax/mail/Address within our application archive, it will load from the server/default/lib/mail.jar. However, the javax/mail/Address can't be found in the class path, and throwing the NoClassDefError.
