This is a JVM crash which should be reported to the Sun JVM team. Good luck in getting it fixed since 1.4.2 is no longer supported. But they might be able to tell you if the issue is with an OS component such as a driver. You might want to make sure that the drivers for all your hardware are at the latest levels. Do you have a jndi.properties file? If not, you need to provide one. If you have one, please post it's contents. Also, if you have one are you sure that it is in the classpath? Try Groundwork OpenSource or Nagios (Groundwork is Nagios with easier installation and configuration). You can set up (or locate) scripts to capture mbean stats and chart them. In general, modifications to xml files in the deploy directory will be applied during the next hot deploy (the hot deployer runs every 5 seconds by default), but changes to any files in the conf directory require a restart. One exception if jboss-log4j.xml - it gets reread every so often. I do not know if there is a way to get the LDAP login module to not attempt to get the role - I would have to dig through the source code to find out. I can think of two workarounds: 1) Subclass org.jboss.security.auth.spi.LdapLoginModule and code the subclass to ignore the role info and return a hard-set role. 2) Provide data for the various roles entries such that LDAP returns some value (could be anything - a department name, a country name, whatever) and use that as the role. Will you applications really have just one role? In other words, once someone signs in, do they have access to everything? If so, either of the above should work. [Beginners Corner] - JBoss Profiler can't be activated!!

I'm using JBoss Profiler 1.0 RC3 on JBoss 4.0.3SP1 AS based on JDK1.4.2_17 All set up procedures have been done. Both front-end and JMS agent can be accessed. BUT when I click the "invoke" button of "void activete()" in console to run profiler, the result is"the page cannot be displayed". An error happens and terminates the JBoss server. Error INFO: JBoss Profiler: Initializing DataGathering | # | # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine: | # | # Internal Error (50415241.................235), pid=3556, tid=5924 | # | # Java VM HotSpot<TM> 1.4.2_17 | #....... | Any idea to solve this problem? Any similar experience to share?
