[Microcontainer] - Re: Programmatically deploying an object

Ok, lets try this again. And please don't post code from somewhere and refuse to explain it. Looking through the code doesn't help if I don't know in what context to use it :) The situation is that I need to have access to the servlet context for deployment (see http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4228452 and https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBAS-6865). Until its actually supported properly, I need to find away around it. If I use a servlet context listener, I can easily get this object when the webapp is initialized. So I know how to get the servlet context indirectly, but the servletcontextlistener is handled by the server and not the microcontainer. Is there a proper way too add this object as an attachment to the deployment unit for the war? Or to hook this into the microcontainer to do so? [Beginners Corner] - jms-message-filter in provider vs service?

I'm looking at the quickstart\helloworld_file_action that comes with JBossESB 4.5 GA and I noticed that the jms-message-filter can be specified in either the provider or the service elements. Why would I want to specify the filter in the provider vs the service? If it really doesn't matter where I specify the filter then I don't see how the filter is working in this example. I see that "type='fromHelloworldFileAction'" has been added to the message, but I don't see who/what added it to the message. And, I'm not sure that anything is really filtered. [EJB 3.0] - Calling stopDelivery causes a

I am currently running a JBoss 5.0.1GA with an updated EJB3 container (1.1.4). I upgraded the container so that I could use the stopDelivery/startDelivery functionality on the MDB's. to complete then it would simply not deliver more messages, however this error seems to imply that it is terminating the current transactions, however it does seem to be after the MDB itself has finished processing. I'm not sure if this is just a standard way to shut things down - however from the log it doesn't look at clean as I would expect. Can anyone help me just get my head around how the container is stopping delivery, and can't these errors be safely ignored or is there a problem in the way we are stopping the delivery of messages to the MDB? Hi I am trying to deploy an ear application with the following structure. myapp.ear - META-INF - application.xml - app.war - app-ejb.jar - app-config.jar - app-toplink.jar - APP-INF/lib (directory with required jar files as spring.jar, etc...) I got the error Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError The class is presento on APP-INF/lib jars but its like this path is not included How can I specify an application classpath, is it on Manifest file?? [JBoss jBPM] - Problems building jbpm-3.3.0.GA from sources

Hi all, I'm trying to build jbpm-3.3.0.GA from sources and maven is telling me that a dependency is missing (org.jbpm.jbpm4:jbpm-spec-api:jar:1.0.0-Alpha2). I looked into jboss repository and the file is not there (http://repository.jboss.org/maven2/org/jbpm/jbpm4/). Is this a bug? Thanks, Osvaldo Pina. [JBoss Getting Started Documentation] - Re: problem building jsfeJB3 application

Just run across this problem... still exists. As rtaylor says, the example does require jsf-facelets.jar, so the getting started guide should advise downloading and unpacking seam, then setting the seamlib property of build.xml to wherever you have unpacked seam to. And since it does require this jar, don't comment out the lines from the build.xml as suggested at the start of this thread. [JBoss Messaging] - Re: ClassCastException looking up ConnectionFactory

Ok. I have JBM 1.4.2GA up and running and am getting almost the exact same errors ... just replace Spy with JBoss. The first error is : java.lang.ClassCastException: org.jboss.jms.client.JBossConnectionFactory cannot be cast to javax.jms.QueueConnectionFactory Then the JBossQueue and then the class loader error. I searched the forum and wiki and didn't come up with any answers. It's gotta be something fundamental. Why do I get the ClassCastException? I should be able to use the jms interfaces to hide the JBoss implementation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [Beginners Corner] - Re: Is it possible to add another hot deployment directory?

Hi, I am using AS 5 I have tried this by adding the following <value>file:/home/fred/work/jboss/deploy/</value> to the profile.xml file and restarrting JBoss AS. But when I put a WAR file the /home/fred/work/jboss/deploy/ directory nothing happens. there is no error or anything in the server.log file. Do anyone know why this is not working for me?
