I installed jbpm4.3 with sql server 2005. The data source is given below, it is in local mode.
I ran the ant script with hsql setting and manually modifed the datasource and jbpm config files for dialect, url, driver etc.
I am testing the deployment with jbpm-console application, I am able to start a process view it. Those funcationalities are working, But while viewing the system overview report I am getting an error, the top part is fine, overview chart is displayed but in the bottom part I get the below error. The stack trace is given above. When I opened the report template file I found that there is a datasouce configuration and etc which points to hsql, do I have to modify that also?
While server startup I am getting some deployment error, that log is also given above. Can some one tell me how to resolve these issues?

Huisheng Xu: I was not aware of this issue and its bugfix. Thank you for pointing out. Nevertheless I don't see why adding this method to ExternalActivityBehaviour is not a good design. Ronald has been thinking this carefully. When implementating custom nodes which also need a timeout behaviour this would be already useful.
Please also consider Maciej's point:
For me cancelling a task and timeouts have to be clearly distinguished from the completion and deletion of tasks because they all mean different history data being related. If there is an escalation/timeout I don't want the task to be treated as if it was deleted. Deleting tasks should only be possible for tasks not belonging to a process/execution.

No need for me to create a jira entry. I have been in communication with jBoss support and they are looking into it already. But since CXF isn't fully supported by jBoss yet, I posted here to get additional useful input from the community.
Looks like in windows jBoss is 'supposed to' load the parms from run.conf.bat (instead of run.conf), but it doesn't do so successuflly. Also, while run.conf comes with the 'recommended values', run.conf.bat still has the old values and so we need to adjust them ourselves (still, they didn't get loaded from there - that is probably a bug). My guess is that all of this will get fixed by the next release. Even with these issues it is nice to have a jBoss-supplied Windows Service component.
I considered moving to JBossWS-CXF, but since it isn't fully supported by jBoss yet... at this time I get better support from the authors by using the Apache CXF. I also have a critical dependency on NTLM authentication... which wasn't 100% right until CXF 2.2.7. jBoss is still at CXF 2.2.2 and is not pre-installed with jBoss 5.x, but they are seriously considering upgrading to a more recent version (2.2.7, 2.2.8?) for when they are ready to fully support CXF. Still, thanks for the suggestion Alessio... I will follow it when the time is right.
I am curious as to what customizations JBossWS-CXF brings to CXF. Perhaps something to make it work better in a cluster?

That's because CXF there tries to use a method not implemented in that version of JBossWS SAAJ implementation.
You have multiple approaches here:
- you try replacing the jbossws saaj library with a more recent one where that method has been implemented; I think you need https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBWS-2747 https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBWS-2747, hence jbossws-3.2.1 is what you'd need. Unfortunately that requires JBoss AS 5.0 at least, so you'll probably end up trying if the saaj jar lib can be isolated and ported to AS 4.2.3 or you checkout the sources of the jbossws included in 4.2.3, fix SOAPPartImpl as done in the jira, compile and install the modified version to AS 4.2.3
- you move to a more recent AS version, perhaps installing jbossws-cxf integration instead of deploying cxf on top of a JBoss AS that's running the jbossws-native stack
