I am for removing the slash restriction entirely, without introducing a new configuration setting. We could get previous assignee information from history. It is a part of ActivityBehaviour/ExternalActivityBehaviour. When you need to implement some feature that jBPM 4 didn't provide by default, you could use them to implement a customized activity. [JBoss Tools] - JBoss Tools Tycho Build Code Coverage Report

We don't see anything useful in the jboss nor server logs on the client nor server side (i.e errors, network interface messages, etc.) What we've done is updated jboss-remoting.jar to version 2.5.2.SP3 on all of the clients and on the jboss servers. We have not seen any issues since then. I will update this if we start seeing them again. Thanks for the info about setting the timeouts. That will be useful if we do start seeing this again. Also, I found that when we have a "pushed" external bean with a producer method which is wrapped with an alternative Producer implementation (such as our ExisitingInstanceMethodProducer), I can't see anything in the CDI api to be able to figure out which bean manager the call came from. i.e. there does not seem to be anything in the ProcessProducer event or in the CreationContext passed in to Producer.produce(). This means it is impossible to have producer methods with injected parameters in these producer methods coming from external beans.
