[jBPM] - Local TaskServer Enlightenment?

To view the discussion, visit: https://community.jboss.org/message/648451#648451 -------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I have seen three implementations of a TaskServer to use in conjunction with the HumanTask: - MinaTaskServer - HornetQTaskServer - JmsTaskServer Based on previous posts https://community.jboss.org/message/647887#647887 https://community.jboss.org/message/647887 https://community.jboss.org/message/582229#582229 https://community.jboss.org/message/582229#582229 I understand the benefits of using the HornetQTaskServer over the Mina implementation and why Mina was the original "reference implementation". With the release of jBPM 5.2, there is now a local task server that can run in the same JVM that the process gets executed from (tight coupling of the process to the task server). I have looked at the examples posted, but I can't put my finger on the benefits of completing tasks in this manner. Can someone explain to me why we would want to start and complete human tasks in this manner? Is the purpose of the local task server to provide the transaction management control or is it something else? I have attached source code that provides an example I have been working with to see it run. Can someone enlighten me about the intent of the local task server? Everything works fine if the project is built via the terminal. Anyone else with a similar problem? Unfortunately that doesn't work, I get a NullPointerException at org.jbpm.bpmn2.xml.TaskHandler.readDataInputAssociation(TaskHandler.java:120). My reading of the code suggests <transformation> is not implemented in jBPM 5.2.0_Final. To me, it seems readDataInputAssociation() only handles <assignment>. And indeed, <transformation> is not listed as supported in chapter '6.3 Supported elements' of the documentation. The code looks like it's setup to always treat the <to> and <from> as an XPath expression, so I guess I'll have to go through the code to find out what it can do and how to do it. Unless someone can point me to some documentation..? Thank you for your suggested alternatives, but to be honest, I don't really like them. My goal is to make the process to be as 'business process' as possible, so a task to prepare the parameters for the next task is not in-line with that goal. I'm only using domain-specific tasks, but I don't think it's their job to prepare their own input and output parameters from whatever format the caller uses. I think there should be a way to map tasks' inputs and outputs in the process itself, and that's what I'm trying to do with these dataInputAssociation/dataOutputAssociations. I will update this discussion thread with any progress I may make. In the meantime, any other suggestions would be most welcome. [Beginner's Corner] - AS7 Module creation guide / help

I am rather new to JBoss (Hence the Beginner's corner post) and Java generally. I am actually using Torquebox and JRuby but this question is related to general JBoss AS7 modules rather than Torquebox. I need to create an AS7 module that will allow all my deployments access to the JMuPDF PDF renderer ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/jmupdf/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/jmupdf/ ). This is slightly more complex than a normal module in that it uses native libraries (.so and .dll) as well as jars. I have scrounged and googled around the internet for documentation on how to create AS7 modules but have come up relatively short so the first question is does anyone have the link to the official, hopefully comprehensive, AS7 module creation guide? Based on what I did find so far and looking at how other modules are layed out I have the following so far. https://github.com/rurounijones/jmupdf-jboss-module https://github.com/rurounijones/jmupdf-jboss-module The README in that repository has all the details. Basically I am not sure what I am missing / what is stopping the module from working properly. As mentioned before I think the lack of exports in the module.xml file may be an issue? I use the following parts of JMuPDF in the applications, do they need to be explicitly exported in module.xml? com.jmupdf.pdf.PdfDocument com.jmupdf.exceptions.DocException; com.jmupdf.exceptions.DocSecurityException; com.jmupdf.page.Page; com.jmupdf.page.PageRenderer; I also noticed in the documentation that I did find that native libraries may need special handling (unfortunately that section was blank). Does anyone have any pointers regarding that? I am hoping it is a rather basic thing I am missing due to lack of java/jboss experience. Any help would be much appreciated. [JBoss Web Services] - Http digest authentication

Is there anything special I need to do for JAX-WS clients to access to a JAX-WS service that is protected at the container level (jboss 6) with DIGEST authentication? My browser can access the service after password entry with no problem. The JAX-WS clients have the username and password added the the binding provide context and nothing else (no special configuration files). After changing to digest, the JAX-WS clients now no longer work at all.
