I'm the new guy at a new job, and an entry-level Java developer on top of that. Long story short is that I've been tasked with researching a way to simply use JBoss to rout http in and then out again, maybe with the only catch being that they'd want http*s* out. But that is something for later on, as I have nothing to go with as of yet. I'm getting +some+ help from more senior people at my workplace, but they are already wearing too many hats for other tasks. There are also limitations on the knowledge regarding JBoss that they can provide me with, as things are in a migration stage (out of necessity) away from Websphere and towards JBoss. I've looked into things enough to discover that I want to avoid any servlet that adds a prefix, puts the http into a wrapper, or does any sort of filtering for content. At least that is the path I think I need to take. It looked like HttpDispatchServlet or HttpGatewayServlet might serve as good starting points, but they both are deprecated. I'll try to give as much missing info as I can, as the bulk is obviously omitted. And apologies for being so utterly green about JBoss. Our JBoss log file, "stderrwfc.log" keeps growing and its currently at 6GB. The log file is located in the following path: d:\jboss\bin\stderrwfc.log. If we don't do something we are going to be out of space on the server. Where do I make this change so that log file doesn't grow anymore and how to do it? I'm looking into how to set the service to truncate that log back to zero when I restart the service. At the moment it is set to keep the log file and append on a restart. We're close. If anyone know "log4j" configuration over there, that appears to be the key. Any help would be greatly appericated. What I would like to do, is make it dynamic. I would like to pass the credential through the EJB (So far, so good). But the problem is how can I connect to the JDBC with theses dynamic credentials using the current approach? Is it possible to do it? I'm using LocalTaskService, JPA 1 persistence unit over hibernate. It is working, a sample process can be started. But I'm struggling with a named query that does not return tasks while it should. To retrieve tasks, I'm now trying to call: public List<TaskSummary> getTasksAssignedAsPotentialOwnerByStatus(String userId, List<Status> status, String language) of LocalTaskService . That calls JPA named query *TasksAssignedAsPotentialOwnerByStatus* included in Taskorm.xml file. For parameter 'status' (a list is expected), I'm passing an ArrayList of size 1 with org.jbpm.task.Status.Ready enum value in it. JPA Query does not retrieve any task while it should. I've logged generated SQL and when run nativtely on database, it returns records as expected. However, the log file shows that the *binding of 'status' list parameter does not serialize correctly*. See log file below in *red*. The status list is binded in binary format ! Any idea what is wrong ? Authentication is done by a 3rd party ( clearthrust ). Before the request arrives to jboss the requestheader has been complemened with a entry containing the userid, this is done by the 3rd party. After that the request is redirected to jboss. In jboss i want to modify the request-header by putting the "authenticate basic uid:pwd"-string in the requestheader, before i get the "basic realm" popup-dialog. The pwd is the same as the uid. I tried to use a filter, but it gets triggered after the realm popup-dialog. Can anyone tell me how to accomplish this ?
