There is a solution to the LeasePinger problem in a later version of Remoting (2.2.2.SP7
or above). For example, 2.2.2.SP8 ships with AS 4.2.3.
In particular, when the org.jboss.remoting.ConnectionValidator running on the client
determines that the connection to the server has failed, it turns off the
org.jboss.remoting.LeasePinger.
See JIRA issue JBREM-891
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBREM-891
for some discussion. Or see Section "8.3. Interactions between client side and
server side connection monitoring" in the Remoting Guide
(
http://www.jboss.org/jbossremoting/docs/guide/2.2/html/index.html).
