JBossWS trunk (which is the base for the 2.x releases) can only be build against the latest AS sources (5.x). Even if you get the 2.0.0 CR2, it won't deploy on 4.x, because they are not binary compatible. But we are currently evaluating the possibilty of providing a 2.x backport that works on 4.0.5 and subsequent 4.x releases.
