Did you add a layout ? By default it ships with 2 options: Generic and default. The default is the generic one out of the box. The difference is that if page A is defined with Generic and page B is defined with default at first they will both use the generic layout. Let's say you add a layout called "3columns" and make it as the default layout, page A will still use the generic layout while page B will use the 3columns layout.
