I've been having the same problem. bhavinpmehta's advice solved the problem - so there must definitely be something wrong with some of Microsoft's JDBC drivers somewhere as I'm sure all the connection strings and things were right... *shrug* This was with version 2.0.1008.2 of the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 driver.
